Pan-European Seal Traineeship in Law

Are you a young, aspiring professional interested in the world of intellectual property and on the lookout for your next professional opportunity?

The next intake of trainees under the EPO Pan-European Seal Professional Traineeship Programme starts in September 2021.

 

Here's where you will find opportunities across patent granting procedures and practices, the review of patent examination guidelines, the enhancement of the legal frameworks of the European and international patent systems, the drafting of legal notes under patent law, project-based research, and much more.

 

The Pan-European Seal Programme aims to spot IP talent early in Europe's brightest and highest-achieving graduates. In the areas of human resources and business administration, you will be involved in a variety of projects tackling talent strategy, professional growth of our staff, customer relationship management and more.

Apply if you meet the following programme requirements:

  • You are a national of one of the EPO member states including extension states
  • You were nominated by your university, which is a member of the Pan-European Seal network
  • You hold a bachelor's/master's degree or are currently enrolled for PhD studies in a relevant field and obtained your degree no more than two years prior to the date of application
  • You have knowledge of one of the EPO’s working languages (English, French or German) at a minimum level of B1
  • You have organisational, communication and prioritisation skills, respect for confidentiality, problem-solving abilities and you enjoy working within a team

Application process

  • The application period will run until the end of  March 2021.
  • The virtual interviews will take place during April 2021.
  • Results will be communicated by the end of June 2021.
  • The programme will start in September 2021.
